Features Not Implemented in On-premises Deployments of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralI stumbled across an article on Microsoft Learn the other day which lists the features of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central which are not implemented in on-premises deployments. These are features which are not only not implemented, but will also not be implemented in future.

I’ve included the key part of the list below, but there is additional information at the link I posted above.

Feature Description
Default Power BI reports Automatic deployment and configuration of Power BI reports isn’t supported in on-premises deployments of Business Central.
Bulk Invoicing from Microsoft Bookings Integration with the Bookings app that is available in certain Microsoft 365 subscriptions isn’t supported.
Create workflow from Power Automate Power Automate does not integrate with on-premises workflow functionality. You can’t create new workflows based on existing Power Automate templates in on-premises deployments of Business Central.
Sandbox environments The sandbox environment that you can use to develop extensions against for the new developer experience can’t connect to an on-premises deployment. For more information, see Get started with the Container Sandbox Development Environment.
In-product search In online deployments of Business Central, Tell Me, the in-product search, also searches in content on the learn.microsoft.com site. For on-premises deployments, this isn’t supported.
Late Payment Prediction The Late Payment Prediction functionality isn’t supported in on-premises deployments of Business Central.
Use the company hub to manage work across multiple companies. Integration with the company hub isn’t supported in on-premises deployments of Business Central.
Inviting the external accountant Integration with the now deprecated Dynamics 365 — Accountant Hub and the existing company hub isn’t supported in on-premises deployments of Business Central.
Business Central app for Microsoft Teams This app connects Teams to your business data in Business Central. The app can’t connect to Business Central on-premises. For more information about Business Central online and Teams, see Business Central and Microsoft Teams Integration.
Share to Teams This feature lets Business Central online users copy a link from a page directly into a Teams conversation. For more information, see Sharing Business Central Records and Page Links in Microsoft Teams.
Connect to Shopify Online tenants can connect their Shopify store (or stores) with Business Central and maximize their business productivity. The Shopify connector is not supported for on-premises deployments. For more information, see Get Started with the Shopify Connector.
