I had someone mention this to me yesterday and I’ve since seen confirmation on MS Dynamics World; Microsoft plans to end the sale of perpetual licences for the on-premises versions of their Microsoft Dynamics Business Central in October 2025. This means from 2025, BC will only be available under a subscription or SaaS (software-as-a-service) model.
This only effects new sales, so existing on-premises customers with perpetual licences will continue to be able to use the software as they are currently and will still be able to add users.
** Updated phrasing to clarify this is the perpetual licences which have stopped for BC; subscription licences for on-premises will continue to be available.
