This post is part of the Hands On with Microsoft Dynamics GP Fall 2021 Release series where I am going to go hands on with installing the Microsoft Dynamics GP Fall 2021 Release and associated products.
With the Web Services for Microsoft Dynamics GP installed, we can now configure them. If you marked the checkbox on the last step of the installer, the wizard will already be open, otherwise you can launch the Web Services Configuration Wizard from the Windows Start menu.
On the Welcome step, click Next:
Check to make sure the connection information is correct and click Next:
There are two check performed and if either fail you need to investigate to determine if they will be a problem. The first check is of the currencies to make sure they all have a an ISO code assigned; if they don’t you will need to correct this. The second check, is to make sure each company has a functional currency assigned; this is only needed for the companies you will be using with the web services; you can check which companies do/don’t have a functional currency using this script.
If you’re happy with the results, click Next:
Select the companies which are to have the web services deployed; you can use shift and control to select multiple companies. Click Next
Review the selected companies and click Next to start the deployment:
Confirm you want to proceed with the install by clicking Yes
Once the configuration is finished, click Complete:
Click Yes to restart the windows service hosting the web services:
The web services are now installed and configured; in the next post, I’ll take a look at verifying the web services to make sure they are working correctly.
