The twenty third Feature of the Day is Copy Home Page and Area Page. This feature provides the ability to copy the Home Page Role, Home Page Content, or Area Page Settings from one user to another.

The twenty second Feature of the Day is Payment Terms – Discount Date Calculation. With the changes for the transaction due date, we’ve extended the options for the discount date also in Microsoft Dynamics GP2015.

Now you have the same calculation options for discount date that you do for transaction due date. You choose among calculation options like annual, next month or month/date and being able to add days, months, or years to the calculation gives you greater flexibility when setting up your payment terms:

The twenty first Feature of the Day is Payment Terms – Transaction Calculation. In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 you now have greater flexibility to configure payment terms for the transaction due date.

A new selection was added to calculate the transaction due date from the transaction date or from the discount date and additional calculation options like annual or month/date and being able to add days or months to the calculation gives you greater flexibility when setting up your payment terms:

The twentieth Feature of the Day is Create Refreshable Excel Reports in SmartList Designer. This feature will enable users to create refreshable Excel reports using SmartList Designer. Reports created from SQL views may be published to the Excel report library.   

By publishing a refreshable report, the user can open the report in Excel and the data will always be up to date:

I like the look of this feature. The out-of-the-box Excel Reports are of somewhat limited utility as they return all data for the report which means that for a transaction SmartList there can be vast sums of data returned. But with these SmartList Designers you should be able to define a filter in the report so it only includes, for example, the current or previous months transactions.

The nineteenth Feature of the Day is Canadian Payroll Web Client. With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 you can now deploy Canadian Payroll functionality for your web client installs.

This allows the full functionality of Canadian Payroll for those customers who wish to have users access Microsoft Dynamics GP through the web browser:

The eighteenth Feature of the Day is Fixed Assets Year End Report. Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 Fixed Asset Management has a new, optional, report in the Fixed Assets year-end closing routine.

Now, in a single step, you can close your year and print a status report of all the assets that are being affected by the close.

On the report you’ll see the year to date depreciation, cost basis, accumulated depreciation, net book and more:

The seventeenth Feature of the Day is Employee Paystubs. In Microsoft Dynamics GP2015 employees can now view or print their own paystubs.

With Employee Self Service Paystubs, the user can see their pay stubs and then can view the detail or print them to a printer.

Navigation on the Employee Time Management home page part opens the Paystubs navigation list. The employee can select one or more paystub and print them all at the same time.

The sixteenth Feature of the Day is Direct Deposit and Workflow. Another option for Employee Self Service in Microsoft Dynamics GP2015 is Employee Direct Deposit.

The Employee Direct Deposit window allows an employee to view and edit their direct deposit information. They can start or stop direct deposit, add or remove accounts and edit the direct deposit distribution.

With workflow for Employee Direct Deposit, the direct deposit changes can be routed to the appropriate people for verification before updating the employees data.

The fifteenth Feature of the Day is Employee W4 and Workflow. A new Employee Self Service feature in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 lets a user view and update their own W4 information.

With Employee W4, the user can see their current W4 settings, view historical W4’s, make changes, and submit the changes to workflow. From the Employee Time Management home page part the user can choose update my W4.

In the Employee Withholding Certificate window the employee can manage their information and once submitted to workflow, the change will be routed automatically prior to updating the employee’s record.

The thirteenth Feature of the Day is Employee Profile, Skills & Training.

In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 as part of the Employee Self Service functionality managers can see and/or edit their team members data including Address/Phone Number, Dependants, Emergency Contacts and Position History in the new Employee Profile window.

The Employee Skills & Training window also allows managers to view and edit the Education and Tests for their team members. Managers can also view the Skills and Training for each employee.

Manager submitted tasks will still flow through workflow for approval or notification.
