MDGP 2015 Feature of the Day: Employee Profile, Skills & Training

As I have done for the last two releases, I intend to shadow these posts and add my own opinions on these new feature; the series index is here.

The thirteenth Feature of the Day is Employee Profile, Skills & Training.

In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 as part of the Employee Self Service functionality managers can see and/or edit their team members data including Address/Phone Number, Dependants, Emergency Contacts and Position History in the new Employee Profile window.

The Employee Skills & Training window also allows managers to view and edit the Education and Tests for their team members. Managers can also view the Skills and Training for each employee.

Manager submitted tasks will still flow through workflow for approval or notification.

MDGP 2015 Feature of the Day: Employee Self Service Functionality

The twelfth Feature of the Day is Employee Self Service Functionality. The new Employee Profile window in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 is an extension of the Employee Self Service functionality allows employees to view and/or update their personal information including Address/Phone Numbers, Emergency Contacts, Dependants, and Position History.

Employees maintain their Education and Tests in the Employee Skills and Training window and view their Skills and Training History.

Workflow functionality is integrated so employees can submit changes and managers can approve changes from a Navigation List or from an email notification.

MDGP 2015 Feature of the Day: Employee Benefits

The eleventh Feature of the Day is Employee Benefits. Employee Benefits is part of the new Employee Self Service functionality being introduced in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015.

The new Benefits View window allows employees to view their benefits, employee contributions and employer contributions. An option for All or Active allows employees to view what they are assigned as well as all benefits available.

MDGP 2013 Feature of the Day: Custom Fields In Advanced HR

Microsoft Dynamics GPMicrosoft are posting the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Feature of the Day series on the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP Blog.

The eightieth feature they’ve announced is Custom Fields in Advanced HR.

In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013, you can set up labels for four user-defined fields for certifications and licenses for tracking additional information not provided by the system. The labels you set will appear as fields in the Certification Entry and License Entry windows.

MDGP 2013 Feature of the Day: Payroll Integration To Payables

Microsoft Dynamics GPMicrosoft are posting the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Feature of the Day series on the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP Blog.

The sixty third feature they’ve announced is Payroll Integration To Payables.

With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Payroll Integration to Payables we have added multiple enhancements to the integration.

You can have custom voucher descriptions, include or exclude leading zeros from the voucher number or consolidate vouchers for federal tax.

Control how the payroll information is posted to Payables Management by modifying your settings to meet your business needs;

MDGP 2013 Feature of the Day: Default View Stores Sort Order

Microsoft Dynamics GPMicrosoft are posting the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Feature of the Day series on the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP Blog.

The forty seventh feature they’ve announced is Default View Stores Sort Order.

Customers have the ability to choose additional sorts or custom sorts within lookups and can choose Set as Default View. Once this has been chosen as the default, the next time the user enters the lookup the list will populate based off the sort they Set as Default View.

This gives the customer the flexibility to set the lookups based off how they need to see the data and can save them valuable time in the application. The Set as Default option is available within the Customer and Prospects, Vendors, Items, Salespeople and Employees lookups;

MDGP 2013 Feature of the Day: Mandatory Arrears Templates & Reminders

Microsoft Dynamics GPMicrosoft have started the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Feature of the Day series on the Inside Microsoft Dynamics GP Blog.

The twenty third feature they’ve announced is Mandatory Arrears Templates & Reminders.

This feature is another of those in the US centric Human Resources series.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Deduction in Arrears now supports templates for calculating and posting mandatory arrears. Template creation and mandatory arrears reminders make the calculation process easier and more automated.

Mandatory arrears reminders are reminder tasks. You specify whether a reminder is generated and what security task drives the recipients. Additionally, multiple sets of arrears can be posted at once using the new batch posting feature. The Mandatory arrears reports now include template data.
