Windows 8 Consumer Preview now available for download.
Yesterday, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft announced the availability of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.; full details at the Building Windows 8 blog.
I’m in the process of downloading it so I can see what improvements have been made since the Developer Preview and will post any thing of interest.
David Musgrave has released build 16 of his Support Debugging Tool. Full details of the changes are available on the Developing for Microsoft Dynamics GP blog.
There are two updates available;
Windows 8 Developer Preview now available for download.
I began working life as a trainee developer using Pick Databasic before moving onto Visual Basic 6 but more recently have moved out into consultancy and training.
However, I am quite still interested in seeing what is possible with Windows 8, and am very interested in seeing how the new Metro interface works, as well as how well it works, on a desktop PC.
Guess I know how I’m spending the rest of this evening.
David Musgrave on the Developing for Dynamics GP blog has forwarded on the announcement that the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 RTM VPC image is now available.
This download comes in two parts; the Tech Demo Toolkit image as well as a Domain Controller image (I’ll try to check this out later but I’m off for a long weekend later today but presumably this is because Management Reporter requires a domain) and is only compatible with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1; if you have Windows Virtual PC installed you’ll need to remove it and revert back to the older one as, unfortunately, both cannt be installed at the same time.
One of my biggest problems with the SmartList in Microsoft Dynamics GP is the size of the two panes. The left hand pane resizes itself when you change the size of SmartList; when maximised it ends up being two fifths of the screen size which seriously cuts down the space for viewing the report.
But, now, help is at hand. Frank Hamelly, a Microsoft Dynamics GP MVP, on GP2themax has posted a modified SmartList window, from Nicole Albertson of Microsoft, which resizes the left pane.
The modified window is loaded in via Customisation Maintenance (Microsoft Dynamics menu » Tools » Customise » Customisation Maintenance) from a .package file and works by keeping the left pane a set size which maximises the pane showing the report data.
Hopefully, the next version of Microsoft Dynamics GP will come with a built in solution to this.
Dynamics Corporate Performance Management has announced that Management Reporter Service Pack 2 was now available for download. This release of Management Reporter adds compliance with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010, better support for rounding adjustments and adjustment periods and performance improvements for reports with large numbers of transactions, many calculated rows, and Analytical Accounting.
