ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is a new fork of someone else’s plugin; Sidebar Login.

Functionality

Sidebar Login provides a widget which allows users to login from the sidebar using an AJAX enabled widget. I forked this plugin as it was no longer maintained; I’ve added a very small number of enhancements at the same time, but will maintain this plugin myself going forward.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Shortcodes in Widgets

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; Shortcodes in Widgets.

Functionality

By default shortcodes cannot be used in widgets, the Shortcodes in Widgets plugin adds this functionality.

Demo

The Buy My Books section in this sites sidebar is an example of a shortcode being used in a widget; the shortcode being used is the Toggle Show/Hide one,

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Shortcodes in Comments

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; Shortcodes in Comments.

Functionality

By default shortcodes cannot be used in comments, the Shortcodes in Comments adds this functionality; it allows a whitelist of the shrtcodes which can be used in comments and installs with the default set of shortcodes used by the BBCode plugin.

Demo

BBCode is installed on this site, so leaving a comment using a bbcode shortcode will work.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Series Index

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; Series Index.

Functionality

The Series b=Index uses Series and Series Position custom fields to groups posts together into a series: the series-index shortcode can be used on a post to place the series index.

Defaults are configurable via the plugin Settings page, but parameters can be used to customise the output of each series index if required.

A series index post can be created using a Series Position of 0.

Additional shortcodes available are:

  • index-of-series – which allows an index of all series index posts to be displayed.
  • series-index-link – allows a link to be created back to the series index post.

This plugin integrates with the Toggle Show/Hide plugin.

Demo

This site makes extensive use of this plugin:

  • The series-index shortcode has been used to include the series index at the bottom of this post.
  • The index-of-series shortcode has been used on the Index of Series page.
  • The first paragraph of this post uses the series-index-link shortcode to create the link back to the parent post.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: RSS Suffix

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; RSS Suffix.

Functionality

The RSS Suffix allows the site admin to define a suffix which is appended to every entry in an RSS Feed; replacable parameters can be used to, for example, allow each article to include a link back to itself.

Take a look at this sites RSS Feeds using the RSS buttons in the Social Media & Other Sites section on the sidebar.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: RSS Feed

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; rss-feed.

Functionality

ClassicPress by default allows the admin to define if a summary or detailed RSS Feed is available; the RSS Feed plugin allows both types of feed to be available.

Demo

This plugin is in use on this site; the Social Media & Other Sites section in the sidebar shows buttons to both the detail and summary feeds.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Post Archive

Functionality

The Post Archive is usable via a widebar widget and page-index shortcode which display a post archive broken down by year and month.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Page Index

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; Page Index.

Functionality

The Page Index plugin allows the creation of a configurable tiled index of subpages of the current pages.

Individual pages can be assigned a colour, via a custom field, in order to be shown in the index with a different colour.

Demo

The GP Resources page and the entire azurecurve|GP Table Reference and coppr|Distilleries to Visit sites use the Page Index plugin.

azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins: Multisite Favicon

ClassicPress PluginsThis is part of the azurecurve ClassicPress Plugins which introduces the plugins I have available for ClassicPress.

The plugin I am going to cover in this post, is an existing one which has been brought up to coding standards; Multisite Favicon.

Functionality

By default the favicon of a site is the favicon.ico in the root folder of the web site. However, for a ClassicPress multisite this means that all sites in the multisite have the same favicon.

The Multisite Favicon plugin allows you to change this and assign every site a different favicon.
