Hands On With Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 R2: GL Distribution Line Display UI change

Microsoft Dynamics GPWith the release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 R2 it’s time for a series of “hands on” posts where I go through the installation of all of it’s components and also look at the new functionality introduced; the index for this series can be found here.

The feature I am going “hands on” with is the seventh Feature of the Day, GL Distribution Line Display UI change.

The setting for this feature is stored in the SY01402 table (System User Defaults) in the system database, which is typically called DYNAMICS.

As it’s name suggests, this table stores information by user; the setting used to record the expansion state of the scrolling window is syDefaultType equal to 105. When it is 0, the scrolling window is collapsed and when set to 1 it is expanded.

When I osted the Feature of the Day post, I mentioned I hoped it was truly a user setting and not a machine one by being stored in the Dex.ini file, and David Musgrave told me it would be the System User Defaults table, which it is.
